Good bye

Hello everyone, I just wanted to make an announcement that I won't be using this blog anymore because I have made another blog, and would be using that one more often, maybe sometimes, I'll be here too, but will be on that one mostly. Actually, I had to switch my google account for some reason, so I decided to make a blog on that account to be more convenient. I sure will miss this blog a lot as I've been here for nearly seven years, and have a lot of memories attached to it, my other blog is also very much the same,  here's the address Hope to see you there, Goodbye!

Improving

It was just yesterday, I was scrolling on my blog to check that if the changes I had made in the format were applied successfully, when, I accidentally clicked on the "older posts" option. It took me all the way back to my earliest posts on my blog, a feeling came to me, a feeling of gratitude, and at the same time a foolish feeling.  I felt foolish because of the vocabulary, and format in which I had written all those poems, and stories, a memory also flashed in my mind that how I had been really obstinate about publishing all my posts in English, because at that time, I was in school, and in my school, the students were forced to speak English most of the time. I too thought that English was better than Urdu, and I had argued with my mother to translate whatever came to my mind in English so I will post it on my blog, and my mother was constantly trying to explain me that you should write whatever is coming in your mind in the language which you have the vocabulary of, but...

Green, and white

The month of August comes bringing back the flags that are not to be seen  until August starts  bringing the lush green grass,  and the rains of mercy along.  The shops get loaded with flags,  badges, and green, and white accessories  that are just to be used till the fourteenth of August  As the date passes away,  the shops get rid of  the unsold flags,  and the people free themselves  from the weight of metal badges,  and green, and white accessories, to start their lives again  from the normal routine,  for this green, and white,  was just till fourteenth.

paper man

Sensitive, and light, but folded very tight, full of colours very bright He discovers them one by one, as he walks every step, and opens every fold As time passes, and more folds open, pattern changes, and the folds once tight, now become very loose Until one day,  they all open up at once leaving nothing behind, but a faded white paper,  that was once very bright.

Thoughts

Thoughts are free, they're always wild, yet sometimes harsh, but  sometimes mild they help us reflect on the bright, and dark side They come to us all the time to me, they flood in my at bed time lying on my bed in the dark, I think about the actions I took all day the phrases I heard, the people I met, the hurt, or exited I felt, the thoughts I had all day long they all come to me at once,  when I’m in my bed Then, forgiving, and forgetting them all, I soon fall, asleep in my bed, to start the next day with new, and positive thoughts

Short story: The rule breaker

The signal blazed red, and all the drivers pushed the brakes, Ahmed was in a hurry, because he was having a street race with the car pulling up behind, he scanned the road quickly, there was no police officer around. He pressed the race, and sped off. He tried to have a glance at the back mirror to get an update of the car he was racing with. He looked up, and found the mirror slightly tilted, so the focus was not directly at the back, it was slightly towards the left.  He took off a hand from the wheel to adjust the mirror, and that was his mistake. The car coming wrong way crashed crashed squarely in his bonnet. In his attempt to adjust the mirror, he didn't even saw the car coming from the opposite sideIt all happened in a fraction of a second that none of the drivers had time to shift to another lane. Fire blazed up, and Ahmed's head, tilted to the other side, stayed there, his eyes half closed, and his hair scattered with the shattered glass from the windscreen. Cars skidd...

A visit to the dentist

I pushed open the glass door, and stepped inside. The waiting area was lined with metal benches, and a few of them were occupied. I walked a few steps, and sat on a bench. The white walls were lined with posters regarding tooth care, sponsored by different tooth brush, and toothpaste companies. The atmosphere was stuffed with the smell of toothpaste.  A girl around 11, stepped out of the surgery room, along with her mother, who was holding her as she weeped on her arm. "Mama's princess", I thought. The assistant poked his head out of the surgery room, and called "Number 13". A few people shuffled in their seats to check their number receipts, but everyone looked up at the assistant blankly, from their blank looks, the assistant figured out that the patient wasn't there, "Number 13 is not here, okay then, number 14", he said. I got up from my seat, and walked towards the surgery room. It looked like a thousand miles walk to me, and my legs suddenly...

Moving to Islamabad

An year ago, we came to Islamabad with our father because of his job, in the beginning, it was just supposed to be business trip for my father, and a family trip for us, that turned into a five year residence opportunity for all of us, we took the opportunity, and planned to live here for five years. It was all so exciting, that we didn't even thought about Karachi in the beginning, this didn't meant we had turned our backs to the city we were born in, but it was just for some time, when we saw a lot of greenry everywhere, a lot of parks, and most of all, the empty swing areas in the parks, and all that was so rare to be seen in Karachi. But as time passed, we started missing Karachi, and all our friends, and cousins living there, And we came to know it's not gonna be that easy to leave the city we had spent so much time in, and move to a totally strange city. But we gradually settled in Islamabad. We did our first ever Eid outside Karachi, we did missed all our relatives, ...

A new way to thank  ''Ammi, I want that helicopter Anas has got'' said Ali pulling on his mother's dupatta, ''which one?'' asked his mother, ''that one'' said Ali pointing out of the window. His mother looked out, Anas was playing with a red and black remote control helicopter in the lawn that his father had bought him from America, ''well, dear why don't you go and complete your left over homework so that you'll be free in the evening to go out and play'' replied his mother. ''Come on Ammi, why do you always change the topic when it comes to buy me something'', wailed Ali, just then Anas's mother appeared from her bedroom and called Ali, Ali went to her, and she said, ''can you do the dusting of my bedroom?'', ''yes baji'' he replied. He entered the room and started dusting her furniture, as he went towards the bookshelf, his eyes landed upon a book labelled,...

a trip to national museum of Pakistan  We started our journey from home in a car, it dropped us at the nearby bus stop, from there we caught the bus 4L. The bus ride was also an exciting ride, even though I had ridden the bus several times before but every time there is something new to learn and experience. The bus dropped us at ''Burns road'' bus stop, there we took a rickshaw and went to the museum. At the museum, the guard told us that the staff is having a lunch break so we would have to wait for some time. We sat there on the museum's lawn and rested for a while. Then, we prayed Zuhr prayer and my father went to the ticket house to buy tickets, when he came back, we went in to explore the museum. I was really excited to learn about the history of the people that once lived on the I'm living today. First, we entered a room labeled ''proto-historic''. In that room, we saw hand-carved seals, sculptures, idols for worshipping, pots, a chessboar...
The spirit of towers Ali was so excited, and why shouldn't he be. He was visiting Pakistan for the first time in his life, he had always heard stories about Pakistan from his parents, but had never seen Pakistan. It was one of his most wanted wishes to see it in real, and finally, this year his parents decided to visit Pakistan. Ali was a seven-year-old boy who lived in Paris. His parents were both Pakistani, they came to Paris just two weeks after their marriage, and since then they never got a chance to visit Pakistan. Ali spent seven years of his life in Paris, listening to stories about Pakistan and waiting to see it one day. The next morning, they left for the airport and one hour after they were on the plane. Their plane landed at Lahore airport after 3hours of flight. Once they were out of the airport, they took a taxi and headed for his grandparent's house, they both greeted them warmly, at lunch they were served some spicy qorma and biryani, though Ali had never eaten ...
Defeat diseases These days when coronavirus is spreading all over the world all the doctors, teachers, parents, and people who take care of us are recommending us to take a healthy diet such as fruits, vegetables, and milk to make our immune system strong and be healthy. But do you know the meaning of being healthy? First of all, being healthy doesn't mean being very thin or to be fat. Many people think that if they're eating a lot of food so they're healthy enough to fight the germs in their body but they're not healthy. If anybody wants to be healthy one should not eat too much food because it makes us obese, and obesity is the root cause of all diseases. So if anybody wants to be healthy, that person should take milk, fruits, and vegetables especially raw ones, and avoid fast food and all the junk, while eating do not overeat and try to keep some part of your stomach empty as it is also a sunnah and helps us to boost up our immunity While staying home, try to indulge...
